 Hello Dear One!

 

I had this thought the other day as I drove back home from a weekend away that involved WAY more indulgence than I actually enjoyed.

 

I felt GROSS.

 

Under rested.  Inflammed.  Swollen. FULL.  Gassy.  HOT.  FAT.  Gross.

 

I felt like I had done such a bad job at being honest with myself regarding my consumption and was truthfully eating more to calm my nervous system than to actually match the hunger of my stomach.

 

It had been an ALL DAY eating affair for me (ahem, the more often you eat the easier it is to WAY overeat calorically for the day) and I felt shitty all around and riddled with regret.

 

As a result I felt like ALL WAS LOST.

 

I had a moment of feeling like I had done SO MUCH DAMAGE by having done so much damage.

 

I thought about the past months of doing cyclical longer FASTs with our BOOST group, where I had hit a new low that I was maintaining (6 lbs below what had been for years), and the fact that I had comfortably fit into my skinny jeans (2 pairs that I hadn't even attempted in ages) - and that I had blown all of it in one disastrous day.

 

COME. ON.

 

 

After ALLOWING myself to fall from the ledge I had thrown myself off of and sob out my greatest fears as I neared the bottom - I had a perspective shift.

 

The Day VS the Duration.

 

I had been doing MOST things in a supportive fashion for MONTHS.

 

I fuck up ALL the time in small ways (or big ways - ahem, that weekend) - but I reminded myself that fuck ups are momentary.

 

Habits are forever.

 

I recognized that most of my Fat Burning behaviors were done MOST of the time with slight deviations depending on the day.

 

I recognized that you CAN'T FAKE TIME.

 

Something either happened or it didn't.

 

And when we repeat behavior over a good amount of time - SHIT HAPPENS.

 

Our actions add up.

 

Whether we've noticed or not.

 

So when we have the anomaly where we have a hard fall from grace it's easy to think that we've blown it royally.

 

And maybe we have. 

 

But if we've both been AT IT for some time, and even more importantly, we get right back TO IT - the mega off roading we've indulged in (that did NOT feel good to us) becomes merely a drop in the bucket of unwanted.

 

And the REAL ocean of YESSSS that we're swimming in was indeed created by countless deliberate choices before this moment.

 

So give yourself a minute and a break if you're ever in the same situation as me the other week.

 

FEEL YOUR FEELINGS.

 

And then take a step back.

 

The majority rules.  

 

Take the DURATION as the victory that day, and just get back to what feels best, and what you know DOES best for you.
